SHOWTIME DEFENDS SACHA BARON COHEN: Showtime says Sacha Baron Cohen never claimed to be a disabled vet in order to land an interview with former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. “There has been widespread misinformation over the past week about the character of Billy Wayne Ruddick Jr., Ph.D., performed by Sacha Baron Cohen on the Showtime comedy series Who Is America? Baron Cohen did not present himself as a disabled veteran, and viewers nationwide who watched the premiere on Sunday can now attest to that,” Showtime said in a statement. The cabler noted that Cohen didn’t wear military apparel and noted that he was not disabled, and did not appear in a wheelchair. (He did appear in a scooter, which he said he used to save his “finite energy.”) A number of politicians who appear in the satirical show, including Palin and Alabama senate candidate Roy Moore, claim Cohen tricked them into doing so. NICK JONAS & PRIYANKA CHOPRA GO ON DOUBLE DATE WITH JOE JONAS & SOPHIE TURNER: The Jonas brothers’ love lives are burnin’ up! Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra hit the town in London Monday with Joe Jonas and fiance Sophie Turner. The foursome went to 34 Restaurant in Mayfair. Kevin Jonas joined them as well. The brothers were together over the weekend to support Joe at BST Hyde Park, and then they hit up the Beyonce and Jay-Z show in Paris. Over the last several weeks, Priyanka has been bonding with the Jonas family, starting with Nick’s cousin’s June 9thwedding. (People)
