Avalanche warning issued for all mountains in Western Canada

REVELSTOKE — The warm weather of late has led to an avalanche warning being issued for all mountains in western Canada

 Avalanche Canada says its the first major WARMING to hit the snowpack, and it will increase the instability — and the likelihood of avalanches.

People heading to the mountains should also be aware that many popular summer trails are exposed to avalanche terrain. 

If you’re heading out, make sure you are properly prepared with the right clothing, footwear and equipment, including an emergency transponder, and ensure you check the Avalanche Canada web site for the high risk areas.
