KAMLOOPS — RCMP say both victims of separate shootings in Kamloops Wednesday morning are confirmed dead.
In a news release, Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says both incidents are now classified as homicides.
No suspects have been arrested.
Shelkie says numerous police officers, including both plain clothes and uniformed officers, are investigating, and she asks that Kamloops residents remain vigilant and watchful for suspicious activity.
Police were called to the Valleyview Super 8 motel in the 2400-block of East Trans Canada Highway at about 6:50 Wednesday morning, where they found a man outside the hotel who had been shot.
Less than two hours later, officers rushed to the Aberdeen Comfort Inn and Suites off Rogers Way, where another man was outside suffering from gunshot wounds.
In both instances, the men were rushed to Royal Inland Hospital and died a short time later.
RCMP have not confirmed the incidents are related.
A news conference has been scheduled for Thursday afternoon, January 24, at the Kamloops RCMP detachment.
