WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — The Steelworkers Union, Local 1-2017, has set up pickets at Tolko’s Lakeview sawmill in Williams Lake.

The job action affects 40 to 50 hourly workers, although contractors on site rebuilding the mill are honouring the picket lines.

The union says the employer is still asking for far too many concessions, especially after the mills have been making record profits.

Earlier this month, 72-hour strike notice was issued against CONIFER, which is the employer group for Northern Interior mill owners.
