KAMLOOPS — Kamloops and area residents will celebrate craft beer culture this weekend at the fourth annual BrewLoops festival.

Set up has begun at 755 Fortune Drive where 24 breweries and five cideries will showcase their products.

In addition to beer, the event also provides food and entertainment.

“We bring in lots of live entertainment, live acts, this year we’re adding in some other ones like magicians and that sort of thing,” said Tyson Andrykew, a director on the board of BrewLoops. “And, we also have kind of adopted a bit of a carnival theme, so we bring in the Ferris wheel, the bumper cars, that sort of aspect.”

Brewloops begins Friday evening at 6 and continues through Saturday.

The annual festival, which is a fundraising event for Rotary West and Western Canada Theatre, has a history of selling out.

“Every year we’ve sold out. This year we have increased capacity considerably, so we’ve got a lot more tickets available than we have in years past. We’ve more or less doubled, a little bit over doubled our capacity. So, we still have tickets available, but they are going really fast and we can’t guarantee that they won’t sell out within the next day or so.”

Tickets can be purchased here.
