WILLIAMS LAKE — A total of 24 sheriff recruits are ready to serve in B.C., including in Williams Lake.

Twenty-two of the recruits just completed an intensive 14-week training program at the Justice Institute of B.C.

“We are committed to providing British Columbia with a court system that is properly staffed and able to hear and resolve disputes in a timely manner,” said Attorney General David Eby. “Sheriffs play an integral role in the administration of justice, and I commend you for embarking on a career that is so important to the province’s justice system.”

Sheriffs are responsible for carrying out court orders of the court and ensuring safety and security of all court users, including the judiciary, lawyers, court staff and the public.
