SALMON ARM, B.C. — The SASCU Credit Union branch in downtown Salmon Arm remains open today, even after an attempted robbery caused substantial damage to the business overnight.

According to a SASCU news release, an explosion in the early hours of this morning damaged the ATM at the front of the business.

The credit union says the thief didn’t get any money from the machine and no one was hurt.

The explosion follows a similar incident August 12, when fire heavily damaged the front of the RBC branch in Chase.
