WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. —  A 20 year old man has been arrested in Williams Lake in connection to a break and enter and aggravated assault.

Williams Lake RCMP Cst. Andrew Waters says it follows a break and enter and aggravated assault the same day.

The break and enter occurred in the early morning hours of Sept. 5 at a Surplus Herby’s store when a number of knives were stolen.

Later that day, at around 9:30 p.m., Waters says police responded to a report of a man suffering from a stab wound in the 1100 block of Third Avenue North.

“When officers arrived on scene the 31 year old male victim had been transported to hospital by nearby residents,” says Waters. “A section of Third Avenue North was blocked off while police began investigating the assault. Initial police investigation determined that a group of males had been fighting when another male rushed in and stabbed the victim. The victim remains in stable condition.”

Following an initial investigation, Waters says Blayne Char was arrested. Char remains in custody with his next court appearance scheduled for Sept. 12.
