KAMLOOPS — It’s back to the classroom today for almost 14,000 students in School District 73.

School starts at 10:30 for all students except kindergarten, and almost everyone will get out at noon.

There are a few exceptions, and the School District advises those unsure to check the District website.

Superintendent Allison Sidow says it’s going to take a few days to get all the classes established. She says there will be at least 187 new students this year, which is moderate growth, but she says until they find out how the increases are in each school, it takes a while to settle things out…

And of course, traffic is a big concern. RCMP Corporal Jodi Shelkie says police will be out in force today to ensure kids get to and from school safely…

School zone speeds are 30 kilometers an hour  8:00 AM- 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.
