River rescue in Dallas

KAMLOOPS —  UPDATE –  Search and rescue crews and dive teams will be back on the South Thompson River first thing this morning looking for a man missing after two jet ski boats collided on the river late yesterday afternoon. Police say the accident happened while the two craft were out enjoying the late afternoon sun. No indication at this point how the accident occurred, but at least one operator was thrown from his craft, and did not resurface. Emergency crews responded to the river in the 4100 block of the East Trans Canada Highway. Police say divers will be assisted by a helicopter and search and rescue crews as they attempt to find the missing man. Identities of those involved haven’t been released. 

 

EARLIER-

Rescue crews are out on the water in the South Thompson River. Emergency crews responded late this afternoon to the 4100 blk of the East TransCanada highway.

Two jet ski boats are reported to have collided in the river. Reports indicate one operator did not resurface. Kamloops Fire Rescue, RCMP, and BC Emergency Health Services all attended the scene of the incident.
