KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Crime Stoppers is calling for help in putting a stop to what has become a rash of racist and hateful sign vandalism in the Kamloops area.

The first defaced sign was found in early July, in the Lac du Bois area above Batchelor Heights.

The sign informed prospective mushroom pickers how the Secwepemc Nation is regulating mushroom picking in wildfire-damaged forests, but was strewn with racist slurs and slogans promoting white power.

Since then, four more similarly-vandalized signs have been found near Cache Creek, Clinton and Ashcroft.
