Gas prices to stay put this long weekend in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — It looks like gas prices will be staying put this long weekend in Kamloops.

“Well for once I think the idea that gas prices move up on long weekends will be put to considerable rest this weekend as there will be no increase today, which is the usual day where we see prices move up,” says Dan McTeague, senior petroleum analyst with Gas Buddy.

“If anything prices have dropped here in Kamloops and it has a lot to do with retailers basically killing themselves to beat up or to at least stay on par with the big box stores like Costco.”

As a result, he expects gas prices to stay in the $134.4 per litre range, or close to it, at least until Sunday.

McTeague says the average price of gas in B.C. is $146.8 per litre.
