Possibility of snow for Coquihalla Hwy between Kamloops and Merritt

KAMLOOPS — Environment Canada has put out a special weather statement for the Coquihalla Highway.

Meteorologist Trevor Smith says the section between Kamloops and Merritt could see a few centimetres of snow accumulation at higher elevations.

“That’s for the rest of today and right through tonight,” Smith said. “Probably by Monday morning we’re going to see this cold low start to move out of the Southern Interior, and conditions should start to dry out and warm up by that time.”

But don’t break out the shorts just yet, Smith says the cold weather may return mid to late week with more showers expected.
