SALMON ARM, B.C. — With flood waters rising, the Salmon River Bridge on the Trans Canada Highway near Salmon Arm has become a source of concern.

A flood warning has been issued for the Salmon River and as a result, B.C.’s Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is keeping a close eye on the situation.

“The ministry has an excavator on site in Salmon Arm to remove river debris as needed,” the ministry told CFJC Today. “The Salmon River dropped 15 centimetres over the weekend. The river is expected to rise again but not as high as last Friday’s peak.”

The province notes flooding is a worry throughout the region with an estimated 30 road closures in the Southern Interior as of this morning.
