KAMLOOPS — Thousands of people lined up under the yellow arches yesterday, for McHappy Day. The 25th annual event was a resounding success.

The fundraiser is the largest running for the restaurant, and attracted thousands of people from coast-to-coast. One dollar from the sale of every Big Mac, Happy Meal and hot McCafe beverage, as well as other monetary donations, will go towards the Ronald McDonald House in Vancouver. In Kamloops, the campaign was a big success, $68,642 was raised, easily beating out last year’s total of just over 62,000.

“It’s helping those families with sick children, those people who need our help we have come to say we support you in every single way, and we can take care of some of those financial details which makes that journey a little bit easier, we say absolutely and it’s just incredible, so heartwarming and I’m just so thankful and grateful to live in such a great and generous community,” says Angela Seymour, McDonald’s Community Relations.
