WolfPack take two of three from Calgary
CALGARY, AB – The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack baseball team are back on the right track after they took two of three games from the University of Calgary Dinos on Saturday. The two teams played a tripleheader because of rain in the forecast for Sunday. The ‘Pack took game one 4-1, lost game two 5-3 and won game three 10-6.
Dillon Ferguson (Kirkland, WA) got the start in game one and was terrific. He got the win in a complete game effort, allowing one run on 10 hits and three walks. He struck out seven batters.
Josh Snider (Moses Lake, WA) stayed hot offensively, going 1-2 with a two-RBI single in the first inning. Josiah Williams (Cloverdale, BC) went 2-3 with a RBI. Josh Hillis (Calgary, AB) went 1-4 with a RBI, a run scored and a stolen base. Liam Rihela (White Rock, BC) went 1-1 with a double, a run scored and a walk. Josh Iannetti (Fort McMurray, AB) and Taylor Van Ham (Medicine Hat, AB) both went 1-3.
In game two, Tyler Hodder (Fort McMurray, AB) started on just two days rest. He suffered the loss, going three innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits and two walks. He struck out two batters. Scott Wood (Stratford, ON) tossed two innings and allowed one run on two hits and a walk. He struck out two batters. Qwinn Nesplak (White Rock, BC) threw one inning, allowing just one hit and one walk.
