KAMLOOPS — The Thompson Junior Blazers kept pace on Thursday night with a 6-4 comeback win over the Manitoba champions, the Winnipeg Hawks.

They play Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. against the tournament favourite Airdrie Xtreme, who won their first game on Thursday 5-3 over Saskatchewan representatives the West Central Wheat Kings.

The Blazers fell behind 3-1 early in the second period when top Bantam prospect Conner Roulette scored for the Hawks before Kamloops’ Reagan Milburn got the game to within one.

Winnipeg went back up by two 4-2 just 41 seconds later. But the Thompson Junior Blazers got goals from Carter Streek, who scored two in the win, and Branden Toye to even the score at four going to the third.
