KAMLOOPS — There’s a new name atop the Kamloops Central Business Improvement Association.

Carl DeSantis has been hired as the organization’s new executive director.

DeSantis will begin his new job later this month and will take over from outgoing General Manager Gay Pooler. Pooler has held the position for 14 years.

He tells CFJC Today he can’t wait to get started.

“I am so excited about this opportunity and the opportunity to work with all the various stakeholders, internal and external, as we continue with Gay Pooler’s legacy downtown. It’s going to be a wonderful time and I’m thrilled the board has the confidence in me to take over the reigns.”

DeSantis is married to Tourism Kamloops CEO Beverly DeSantis. Carl has lived in Kamloops approaching two years and is from Calgary where for five years he was the program coordinator for the Justice Program at Bow Valley College. Prior to that he was a police officer for 30 years.
