Fatal crash on Highway 97 in the Cariboo

KAMLOOPS —Update: Traffic has been expanded to single lane alternating on Highway 97 following this morning’s fatal crash.

Update: Drive BC estimates Highway 97 will reopen at 6 p.m. tonight following this morning’s crash.

Earlier:  At least one person is dead following a crash on Highway 97 just north of Lac La Hache this morning.

North District RCMP Cpl. Madonna Saunderson says the two-vehicle collision happened at around 9:30 this morning on Highway 97 and Butler Road.

She says “at least one person is confirmed dead” noting details are limited at this point.
