KAMLOOPS — Update: Kamloops RCMP would like to talk to anyone driving in this area on Sunday night who may have thought they hit an animal or who now see damage to some part of their vehicle to call them.

Due to the nighttime conditions, there was no illumination and the victim was dressed in black, police believe it is possible that the driver may not have known they hit the victim or thought they had hit an animal.

Anyone with any information is asked to call police at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Earlier: RCMP are investigating a fatality on the Coquihalla Highway just off the Trans Canada interchange.

Apparently a young male was struck and killed on the roadway last night around 9:00 PM.

The body was in the Southbound lane of the highway.

The 21 year old victim was deceased at the scene.

The victim is not a resident of Kamloops.

The vehicle that hit the man left the scene.

Anyone with information call the RCMP or Crimestoppers.
