Strong effort by WolfPack Women’s Basketball falls short in Victoria

VICTORIA, BC—The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack held the University of Victoria Vikes in check for three quarters but couldn’t pull it out in Canada West women’s basketball action on Saturday (Jan 6).

The WolfPack fell to the hometown Vikes 83-64 to drop both ends of their roadswing to Vancouver Island.

TRU was down 27-21 after the first quarter but outscored the VIkes 18-14 in the second to go into the half by two (41-39).

Shenise Sigsworth had a career game for the WolfPack scoring 20 points and adding 10 rebounds.  Emma Piggin was the only other TRU player in double figure. The fourth year guard had 11.   Kristy Gallagher led Victoria with 26 points while Ashlyn Day added 16.   Amira Giannattasio had 13 points as well for Victoria.
