KAMLOOPS — A road block took a turn of events Saturday night after two men fled from their vehicle.

Kamloops RCMP Constable Mike Scherpenisse says police were conducting a road block on Seymour Street just after 8:30 p.m. when officers noticed a vehicle turning around near the BCLC building.

The vehicle took off at a high speed driving the wrong way on Seymour until coming to a dead end.

Two men fled from the car but with the help of a passing motorist and police dog officers located and arrested one of the men a short distance away.

He remains in custody on an outstanding warrant for his arrest and RCMP will be recommending several new charges related to the incident.

Police are still searching for the second man who was wearing blue pants, a grey hoody under a black jacket, possibly a black ball cap and carrying a black backpack.

RCMP found a loaded revolver handgun and knife in the front of the car.

The investigation is ongoing.
