Stone poised to make major announcement

KAMLOOPS — Looks like we’ll find out next Tuesday whether or not Kamloops-South Thompson MLA Todd Stone will make a run at the BC Liberal Party leadership.

Stone has created a Facebook page noting he plans to make “a special announcement” 6 p.m. Tuesday night at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops.

Other candidates to put their names forward so far include current Liberal MLAs Mike Bernier, Andrew Wilkinson, Sam Sullivan, Mike de Jong, MIchael Lee and former Surrey mayor Diane Watts.

The party will host its first leadership debate later this month and elect its new leader in early February.
