Deadman-Vidette Road residents return home

KAMLOOPS — The Thompson-Nicola Regional District has partially lifted an evacuation order on the southeast flank of the massive Elephant Hill wildfire.

The residents able to return home as of 12:00 noon today live along Deadman-Vidette Road, with property numbers from 3653 to 7135.

Two properties Deadman-Cache Creek Road are also affected by today's decision.

The evacuation order was first put in place on August 4.

The Elephant Hill fire still measures about 168,000 hectares in size, and is listed as 25 per cent contained.
