Blazers Balcers signs NHL entry-level contract with San Jose

SAN JOSE, CA — Rudolfs Balcers has signed an entry level contract with the NHL San Jose Sharks.
20-year old Balcers scored 40 goals and 37 assists with the Kamloops Blazers last season and was the Western Conference rookie-of-the-year.
Balcers was selected in the fifth round of the 2015 draft by San Jose.
His signing by the Sharks means he is unlikely to return to the Blazers for a second season in 2017-18.
