KAMLOOPS — If you were thinking about having a campfire this weekend, you are out of luck.

A complete campfire ban is now in place for the entire Kamloops Fire Centre.

The ban was enacted due to the hot and dry conditions, and officials say it is meant to prevent wildfires and protect public safety.

Fire danger ratings throughout the fire centre are generally high to extreme.
