Kamloops Airport noise complaints on the rise

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Airport has been the subject of increasing noise complaints over the past few months.

Kamloops Councillor Ken Christian, who is the president of the Kamloops Airport Authority Society, says the complaints are not being generated by normal operations, but by unusual and intrusive aircraft maneuvers.

Christian says the airport has started to look into the matter, and now offers residents a chance to comment on its website.

“If one scrolls down to ‘Airport Operations’ and scrolls across, you can find a spot where you can register a complaint with respect to noise from the airport which is intrusive. You can fils that with us and over time, we would hope to have some data with respect to that,” said Christian.
