‘Stuff the Cruiser’ to collect donations for Christmas Amalgamated

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP’s annual ‘Stuff the Cruiser’ event takes place tomorrow.

RCMP, BC Sheriffs and community volunteers will be at Walmart and Toys-R-Us between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. collecting new toys and other items to go towards families in need this Christmas.

Kamloops RCMP are hoping this year’s donations exceed those brought in last year.

“Last year I think we stuffed 12 police cruisers full of toys and other items for Christmas Amalgamated,” said Cpl. Jodi Shelkie.

“So we’re just inviting everybody out there to bring us toys and gifts. New items only, though we’ll take used winter coats. We’ll have special guests there including the Safety Bear, princesses and some music at Toys-R-Us.”

Other accepted items include children’s clothing, blankets, chocolates, retail gift cards, and more.

Last year the ‘Stuff the Cruiser’ event provided hampers and toy gifts to 2,000 families in Kamloops.
