Bus tracking coming to Kamloops fleet

KAMLOOPS — Smartbus technology is on its way to Kamloops.

That would allow transit users to know exactly where buses are at all times.

Kamloops council voted in favour of introducing the technology at its regular meeting on December 6.

Councillor Donovan Cavers, who has long advocated for better transit service, says this is a welcome move forward.

“I know a lot of regular transit riders have been eagerly awaiting this technology given the prevalence of smartphones. It will be a significant enhancement to the rider experience, especially in colder weather,” Cavers said.
