KAMLOOPS — City Council will discuss amendments to the current Security Alarm Bylaw on Tuesday.

RCMP are responding to more than 1,400 false security alarm calls annually.

City administration is recommending the city implement an increasing fine structure for false alarms and eliminate RCMP response from certain unverified alarm calls.

The current fee structure allows for up to two warnings for false commercial and residential intrusion alarms a year, and the fines are no more than $300.
