KAMLOOPS — It's official. Sun Peaks resort has had a record breaking season.

President of Tourism Sun Peaks, Christopher Nicolson says the resort saw a 13.4 per cent increase in room occupancy compared to last winter.

He says that's nearly 4 per cent higher than the 2007-2008 season.

"In that particular year it was a record, it has been a benchmark that we have been targeting for quite a few years, and this year being able to surpass that by quite a margin is a huge accomplishment," said Nicolson.

Nicolson attributes the successful season to the snow pack, the dollar exchange, and repeat visitors.

He says resort staff are now looking to carry the momentum into the summer season.

As of today, April 6, Sun Peaks still has 233cm of snow in the alpine. Click here to view the snow report.
