KAMLOOPS — The annual Thompson Rivers University Foundation gala has been declared a success once again.

Vice President of Advancement Christopher Seguin says the event last night raised more than $70,000.

Seguin says it's one of the foundation's most successful events ever, and that's especially significant considering the financial uncertainty in the world right now.

"It's always me when you're in a challenging national economy - world economy, really - how responsive the surrounding community can be," said Seguin. "We're truly appreciative to a wonderful group of donors."

The foundation raises money for student assistance, capital projects, and expanding the school's research capacity.
