KAMLOOPS – The federal government has extended annual funding for Kamloops Immigrant Services, and will be granting more to help the non-profit assist Syrian refugees coming to the Kamloops region.

The agency’s funding was set to expire at the end of March, but it has been notified the $800,000 it receives every year from Immigration Canada will continue. It can also access funding on a per-need basis to hire more workers to help with the settlement and support of incoming refugees.
