TNRD seeking feedback as 2025 budget proposes 8.5 per cent tax increase
KAMLOOPS — The Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) is asking residents for feedback on the 2025 budget, which is currently proposing an 8.5 per cent global tax increase next year.
That proposed increase is down from the initial 12.8 per cent hike, with a staff report stating that the 4.3 per cent reduction was made possible by the use of reserve dollars.
Exactly how much people pay into the TNRD in 2025 will depend on where they live, and whether they get certain services from other local or higher levels of government. A breakdown of those costs can be found on the TNRD website, along with details about the proposed tax requisition, changes to operating costs, and capital projects set to be done in 2025.
“The 2025 draft TNRD budget includes 124 services in 10 Electoral Areas and 11 Member Municipalities,” the TNRD said, in a statement.
