KAMLOOPS — A man Kamloops RCMP believe is at the centre of an organized-crime conflict was arrested earlier this week.

In a statement issued Wednesday (Aug. 14) evening, S/Sgt. Janelle Shoihet says 40-year-old Cameron Ronald Ross Cole was arrested on Monday.

A warrant for Cole’s arrest was issued on Aug. 1, 2024, in relation to an investigation that began in May. Cole is charged with one count each of possession of a loaded restricted firearm and possession of a firearm while prohibited.

Shoihet states Cole remains in custody pending a bail hearing.

Back in May, Kamloops RCMP released the names and images of two men — Cole and 25-year-old Justin Hunt — who were believed to be the targets of future violence. It’s believed Cole and Hunt were also connected to a shooting on the North Shore in July.

The RCMP’s warning followed a series of reports of shots-fired, arsons and targeted criminal acts in the spring.
