Kamloops lawyer disbarred after multiple suspensions
KAMLOOPS — A Kamloops lawyer who was serving an eight-month suspension has been disbarred.
In a news release issued Wednesday (March 27) morning, the Law Society of B.C. (LSBC) announced Nickolaus Harold MacDonald Weiser no longer has the right to practice law.
Previously, he was suspended in July 2023 after a LSBC hearing panel found he was practicing law while under a previous suspension, then he was suspended again in February after the society found he acted in a conflict of interest by acting for both sides in loan transactions.
In its latest decision, a LSBC hearing panel states that disbarment is the only appropriate sanction that effectively safeguards the public.
