Storm surrender lead in post-season loss to Grizzlies
REVELSTOKE — After 30 minutes, the Kamloops Storm were in position to win Game 1 of the best-of-seven Doug Birks Division final, with a 3-0 lead on the Grizzlies on Friday (March 8) in Revelstoke.
The Grizzlies scored five unanswered goals to prevail 5-3 and earn a 1-0 lead in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League series.
Nathan Bohmer, Kyle Sanford and Evan Clark tallied in support of Storm goaltender Colton Phillips-Watts, who turned aside 52 shots in a losing effort.
Ethan Coventry nabbed Revelstoke’s first goal at 14:47 of the second period and went on to record a hat-trick that included an empty-net marker at 18:20 of the third period.
