Man killed after Salmon Arm train strike

SALMON ARM, B.C. — A person has died after being struck by a train in Salmon Arm.
The Salmon Arm RCMP and Fire Department, Canadian Pacific Police, and B.C. Coroners Service attended an incident on the train tracks between Narcisse Road and Marine Park Drive in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Jan. 31.
Police say a male was on the track and reportedly did not make an attempt to move as the train approached, and was fatally struck.
Mounties said the crew attempted to stop the heavily-laden locomotive, but were unable to avoid the collision.
