Traffic impacted on Cariboo Highway south of Clinton as crews work on ‘vehicle recovery’

UPDATE (10:45 a.m.): Multiple vehicles were involved in a collision on the Cariboo Highway south of Clinton Tuesday night.

BC Emergency Health Services told CFJC Today six ambulances responded to the stretch of Highway 97 at around 9:30 Tuesday night, but no one was sent to hospital.

Another update from DriveBC is still due.

EARLIER: CLINTON, B.C. — Traffic on the Cariboo Highway south of Clinton is going to be impacted Wednesday (Dec. 6) morning.

DriveBC first reported of a vehicle incident on Highway 97 between Loon Lake Road and 26 Mile Frontage Road south of Clinton shortly after 11 p.m. Tuesday.

After a near three-hour closure, the stretch of Highway 97 reopened to single-lane alternating traffic. As of publication, DriveBC says the right lane is closed for northbound traffic for “vehicle recovery.”

Drivers are being asked to watch for traffic control crews and expect minor delays. Another update is due at 9 a.m.
