National Alert Ready system to be tested Wednesday

KAMLOOPS — Be prepared for a slight shock this afternoon, as cell-phones, radios and televisions will be begin buzzing with an Alert Ready test this afternoon.
Alert Ready is Canada’s national public alerting system, with Wednesday’s test occurring in all provinces and territories except for Alberta and the Northwest Territories.
In B.C. three agencies have the ability to utilize the Alert Ready system, the Ministry of Emergency Management and Climate Readiness, the BC RCMP, and Environment and Climate Change Canada.
The test in British Columbia is scheduled for 1:55 P.M.
