KAMLOOPS — Two Kamloops residents are being held for court in Hope after a crime spree across multiple jurisdictions.

In a news release issued Tuesday (Nov. 14), Kamloops RCMP mentioned the spree started at approximately 12:50 a.m. Tuesday morning. A black Dodge Challenger was allegedly stolen from Chase Monday evening.

The vehicle was connected to a robbery with a firearm on the 1100-block of Rogers Way and attempted robberies at commercial locations in the 1800-block of the Trans-Canada Highway and another on Rogers Way. The suspects fled southwest before multiple officers arrived.

Kamloops RCMP contacted the neighbouring detachment in Merritt, whose officers found the vehicle in their jurisdiction. South District ERT, Lower Mainland ERT and Police Dog Service units were called to assist.

After crossing into Hope, calls were received of an armed suspect smashing vehicle windows, as well as attempted break-ins and carjackings.

An officer in an unmarked vehicle was involved in a minor collision as a result of one carjacking and the suspects fled once again.

In a short span of time, both suspects were taken into custody.

The first suspect was located in a tree, while the second suspect was found sleeping in a resident’s room at a care home he had broken into.

Anyone with related information, including images or footage, is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP detachment and refer to file 2023-40560.
