Roden, Smith to lead TNRD board another year
KAMLOOPS — The Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) Board of Directors is running it back for another year when it comes to its chair and vice-chair.
During the inaugural TNRD board meeting on Thursday (Nov. 9), Village of Ashcroft Mayor Barbara Roden and District of Logan Lake Mayor Robin Smith were acclaimed as chair and vice-chair, respectively. Roden and Smith were both the only nominees for their respective positions.
“It’s a great honour to have my fellow directors put their trust in me for another year,” Roden said in a news release issued Friday. “The last year has been a learning curve for the two-thirds of the board who were newly-elected in 2022, and for me as chair. It’s been very exciting to see all the energy and ideas from this new board, and to develop a new strategic plan.”
Roden says some of the TNRD’s upcoming key projects include a new library for southwest Kamloops, emergency planning and preparedness, accessibility and building relationships and partnerships.
