Monday crash near Summit Connector yields weapons, drugs

KAMLOOPS — A two-vehicle crash near the Summit Connector early Monday morning (Oct. 30) gave RCMP more than they bargained for.

According to detachment spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn, the crash between a white pickup truck and red SUV took place at the intersection of Victoria Street West and Mission Flats Road.

Investigating RCMP officers found a knife, brass knuckles and a loaded semi-automatic gun.

“The red SUV was also found to be uninsured and outfitted with a mismatched license plate,” said Evelyn.

RCMP also seized some suspected illegal drugs exceeding personal exemption limits.

Three people were arrested and taken back to cells, though they were later released pending the conclusion of the investigation. Evelyn says they were given tickets for traffic and motor vehicle violations.
