KAMLOOPS – Transition Kamloops, a local not-for-profit will be hosting The Kamloops Repair Café next weekend, where community members can bring any item of their own to get repair – even those that are no longer manufactured.
The initiative began in 2018 and their volunteers have saved hundreds of items from the landfill. “Anything you can carry in – except computers and cell phones – is fair game, including lamps, hair dryers, toasters, clothing, bikes, and toys,” said organizer Carl Gagnier. She also said they usually have a successful repair rate of about 65 per cent.
The Kamloops Repair Café will be happening on Saturday (Oct. 21) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Kamloops Yacht Club.
