Witnesses sought after violent robbery at McArthur Island Monday: RCMP

KAMLOOPS — RCMP are looking into a frightening robbery on McArthur Island earlier this week.

According to Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn, the incident took place at about 2:30 p.m. on Monday (Sept. 25). A woman told police she was walking on a pathway near Norkam Secondary when a man approached her from behind, assaulted her and took her wallet and phone.

Suspect descriptions:

• Man in his 40s
• Woman in her late 30s with long blond hair
• Both were wearing baggy pants and medical masks
• Both were riding small bicycles

“The victim received medical treatment for non-life-threatening injuries,” said Evelyn. “If anyone was in the area and saw something or has security footage that captured anything which could be related to this incident or the suspects, please contact police as soon as possible.”
