NorthPaws bring back pair of Kamloops kids for second season

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops NorthPaws have announced that a pair of local players will be returning for the franchise’s second season in the West Coast League.

Kamloops’ Nolan Austin and Tyrelle Chadwick have both been named to the team, along with Tommy Green, Courtenay, B.C., in the latest round of roster announcements ahead of the year.

Last season, Austin batted .263 with 2 homers and 8 RBI, seeing time at both first and third base throughout the campaign. Austin is playing for Northeastern Oklahoma A&M this year in college ball.

Chadwick, who plays for Illinois State, was a dual threat, starting the inaugural game on the mound for the club and appearing in the field where he chipped in 4 RBI. On the mound, he threw 15.1 innings, striking out 16 along the way.

Green returns for his second season with the ‘Paws after batting .234 with 12 doubles, 2 triples and 5 home runs, totaling 26 RBI. He also showcased his elite base-stealing skills with 29 stolen bags. Green is with Oakland University.

The NorthPaws season begins on June 2 in Victoria before they return home on June 6 to face the Portland Pickles.
