Tolko’s Soda Creek, Armstrong operations will rumble back to life Monday

VERNON, B.C. — Tolko says operations at its Soda Creek and Armstrong lumber mills will resume on Monday (Mar. 6).

The Vernon-based forestry company first enacted downtime at all of its B.C. operations on December 21. Additional downtime at Soda Creek and Armstrong was announced on December 28.

In making the decision, the company blamed “a lack of available economic fibre and weak markets.”

More than 350 employees were off work during the downtime.
