Kamloops opens 2023 with quiet building month

After a record-breaking 2022, the city’s building sector got off to a slower start in 2023.
New numbers produced by the City of Kamloops Building Inspection Division show $9.6 million in permit activity in January, about two-thirds what the city doled out in January 2022.
The majority of last month’s permit activity, $5.8 million, came in the commercial category.
Only six new residential units were started in January, compared to 29 last January.
