Search continues for Jacqueline McDermott

MERRITT, B.C. — It has been over a week since Jacqueline McDermott has been last seen or heard from, but officers aren’t giving up hope.

Merritt RCMP Sgt. Josh Roda says Search and Rescue (SAR) are resuming their search efforts at Mamit Lake Friday (Oct. 7) morning at 9 a.m.

He says they will continue searching throughout the weekend.

Roda adds anyone in the public is welcome to join in the search. They would just need to check in with the SAR manager on site.

The 22-year-old woman’s vehicle was found broken down on the side of Highway 97C between Merritt and Logan Lake. Witnesses reported seeing McDermott around her vehicle at this location.
