Postponed game between NorthPaws and NightOwls to resume Saturday in Kamloops
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops NorthPaws fans will be able to see some extra baseball on Saturday (July 23), albeit under unfortunate circumstances.
In a news release Monday (July 18) afternoon, Jamie Shinkewski, operations manager for the NorthPaws, said the third game of the series between the NorthPaws and the Nanaimo NightOwls will resume Saturday at 2:30 p.m. from Norbrock Stadium. The original game from Nanaimo on June 22 was postponed due to a medical emergency in the stands.
The NorthPaws say no ticket will be required to attend the rescheduled Saturday afternoon game. But the baseball club asks fans to bring a cash donation to the ballpark that will benefit the Kamloops Minor Baseball Association and the BC SPCA Kamloops and District Branch.
The game will continue from where it was paused – NorthPaws designated hitter Dylan Zavala had an 1-0 count with one out in the top of the third inning with Nanaimo leading 5-0. The NorthPaws will play as the visiting team on home turf.
